Staff Accountant
We usually respond within a week
At Dream Giveaway, your work does more than drive results, it helps change lives. We run high-impact digital campaigns combining premium automotive and lifestyle prizes with charitable fundraising, supporting veterans' and children's charities while delivering engaging, purpose-driven experiences to a national audience. We're a fast-moving, mission-driven organization where creativity, accountability, and collaboration come together to make a real-world impact.
Dream Giveaway is now part of the Jumbo Group, an alignment that strengthens our mission, expands opportunity, and supports long-term growth for our people. This partnership provides greater stability, expanded career growth opportunities across a broader organization, and access to shared resources and expertise, while we retain our entrepreneurial spirit and purpose-driven culture.
What you will be doing
You will play a foundational role in Dream Giveaway’s Finance team, supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of a growing business-to-consumer digital business. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you will help keep daily financial information accurate, current and well supported while building practical experience across accounting operations, reporting and business processes.
This is a hands-on opportunity for a recent Accounting or Finance graduate, or someone in the early stage of an accounting career. You will learn the company’s accounting processes, work directly with senior leaders and contribute to the team’s transition from QuickBooks Online to Xero as Dream Giveaway grows.
In this role, you will:
Record and review daily revenue and expense activity, ensuring financial information is current and supported by clear documentation.
Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations and supporting schedules.
Review financial transactions, invoices, receipts and other supporting documentation.
Support accounts payable, accounts receivable and cash-management activities.
Assist with monthly close procedures and routine financial reporting.
Prepare and maintain Excel-based reports, trackers and workpapers.
Work with QuickBooks Online, Ramp and, over time, Xero to record, organise and analyse financial information.
Support the move from QuickBooks Online to Xero through data checks, account mapping, testing, documentation and workflow improvements.
Research accounting questions, ask for guidance when needed and identify practical process improvements.
Support financial analysis projects and other finance priorities as your capability develops.
How you'll work
You will work closely with the CFO and cross-functional Dream Giveaway teams across Operations, Marketing, Finance, Compliance and Technology. You will also interact with business leadership, including the CEO and COO, and collaborate with Jumbo Group teams across Finance and Business Performance.
You will also:
Ask questions rather than make assumptions, contributing to a culture of accuracy and shared learning.
Receive and apply coaching and feedback in a constructive and open manner.
Collaborate with accounting software vendors, external accountants and auditors as required.
What we would like you to bring
We are looking for a careful, curious early-career accountant who enjoys getting the details right. You do not need to arrive as an expert in every system: we will provide training and support. What matters most is a sound accounting foundation, a willingness to ask thoughtful questions and the care to keep records accurate.
As well as:
A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related business field.
A strong understanding of accounting fundamentals, gained through study, an internship, audit, bookkeeping, AP/AR or an early accounting role.
A genuine interest in building a long-term accounting career. This role is best suited to a recent graduate or someone in the early stage of that career.
Basic to intermediate Excel capability, including confidence learning formulas, sorting, filtering and data analysis.
Familiarity with QuickBooks Online, Xero, Ramp or similar accounting software is helpful, but not essential.
Careful recordkeeping and attention to supporting documentation, reconciliations and report accuracy.
Curiosity, good judgement and confidence to ask thoughtful questions rather than make assumptions.
A positive response to coaching and feedback, with a willingness to learn the company’s ways of working.
Clear written and verbal communication, and comfort working with a CFO and colleagues across the business.
The ability to organise priorities and meet routine daily and month-end deadlines.
Salary - $55,000 - $60,000 USD p/a plus benefits
